Message from Ruben

My friends,
As we have for the last 9 years, we have been collecting donations for the celebration of Three Kings Day for the children of Isla Mujeres. Thank you very much to all of the people who make this possible and give great joy to each child who receives a small sample of love. Thank you for giving them smiles.

About Three Kings Day

Known as Día de Los Reyes in Mexico, Three Kings Day is celebrated on January 6th. This is Epiphany on the church calendar, the 12th day after Christmas (sometimes referred to as Twelfth Night), when Christians commemorate the arrival of the Magi or “Wise Men” who arrived bearing gifts for the Christ Child. In Mexico, children receive gifts on this day and families and friends gather to drink hot chocolate and share Rosca de Reyes sweet bread.

For the past 8 years Ruben has hosted the Three Kings Day event in front of his restaurant in Centro Isla Mujeres. There’s food and drinks for the children and families, hampers for families in need and of course Toys… lots and lots of toys thanks to your generous donations!
